March workouts for the win!

Well, I said I would keep a record of my workouts for the rest of the month. It’s not pretty, but here it is!

My instinct would have been to create a beautiful calendar with InDesign, maybe create a colour code to indicate the different types of workouts. But I’m getting to know myself well enough to know what I can and can’t do. Maybe in the future I’ll have the time and create a pretty workout calendar.

March workouts But sometimes you can’t sacrifice ‘good enough’ for ‘the best.’ If I’d done that, I would have waited and not done what I did with this messy, imperfect calendar: start immediately.

As you can see, it’s a few boxes and lines on a piece of lined paper, but each day I wrote what I did to get my heart rate up, and there it is – at the end I had 25 days recorded (there’s a small Saturday at the very top, if you can read my writing).

Of those 25 days, I worked out/exercised 16 of those days. Eight days I did nothing. That works out to more than 3x per week, whoo!!

Keeping up with my resolutions!

How are you keeping track of your goals? Keeping your goals physically in front of you (this was on the bulletin board in my room) is one of the best ways to keep track of things. Good luck. You’ve got this.

Until next time,

Jenna Anderson

  1. I have done the same thing and it shows me how much I have improved. It does not need to be pretty!

    • I agree! So glad I did it this way. This messy little sheet of looseleaf showed me that I reached my goal, and there’s no way my memory would have been able to keep track.

Definitely love pretty things, but function must come first. Pretty can (maybe) come later.
