Turns out that summer can be very expensive. Although I’m normally very good with money and spending, the last couple of months I admit I’ve let myself go.
Not only have I not increased my savings, I’ve actually used some of my savings account and not replaced the money, which I consider a significant fail. I’m not going to beat myself up about it, but I’m going to stop spending money on unnecessary items for now.
While I’m not going on a full shopping ban at the moment, I have been reading this blog by Cait Flanders, and it’s providing me with some inspiration for spending less and getting rid of things I don’t need. Right now I don’t want to spend money on much other than food, gas, and some hooks for my bedroom so I can hang up my necklaces. Eating out is definitely off the table. (See what I did there?)
I’m also going to take another look at my New Year’s resolutions and determine where I’m at with them. I’ll have more for you soon.
Funny how this worked out to happen right as the fall season is starting. Do you have any back to school goals? Make it happen!
